The Ninth Circuit narrowed the  "state secrets"  doctrine,  removing the doctrine from use as a jurisdictional bar and restoring its utilization as an evidenciary rule.  Links to the opinion and to explanatory materials about the decision are posted on the Court cases page.

The Uighur detainees have filed a petition for cert. with the Supreme Court,  challenging the D.C.  Circuit's ruling that the courts are powerless to fashion a remedy for the detainees.   Updates on the Baghram detainees'  habeas petitions,  the lawsuits on behalf of the Uighur detainees at G'Bay,  and the newest developments in the Al-Marri,  Rasul,  and Odah cases are posted on the Court cases page.
